Endodontics (Root Canal Therapy)
If you’re experiencing pain, thanks to an infected tooth, endodontics, or root canal therapy, can help relieve your pain and save your tooth.
The team at River Rock Dental will remove the inflamed or infected tooth pulp tissue that’s causing you pain and then clean out and shape the inside of your tooth. Next, they will fill and seal the internal part of your tooth to prepare it for further treatment, including the installation of a post and placement of a crown.
Root canal therapy has a notorious reputation for being painful. But most patients report that the pain caused by the infected tooth is much worse than any discomfort caused by the root canal. Our goal is to restore your tooth to full health and function as soon as possible with minimal pain.
Wisdom Teeth Extraction
A third set of molars, referred to as wisdom teeth, develop much later than our other adult teeth — often erupting between the ages of 15 and 25. While some people are lucky enough to have wisdom teeth that come in straight, right side up, or not at all, most of us don’t fall into this category.
When wisdom teeth erupt, there often isn’t enough room in our mouth to accommodate them. This lack of space often causes wisdom teeth to come in sideways or only partially, or to become impacted within the gums. Impacted wisdom teeth, in addition to being painful, can pose a risk to your overall oral health, causing abscesses and gum infection, jaw pain, headaches, damage to the jaw bone, and shifting of surrounding permanent teeth.
Extracting wisdom teeth early is usually the safest and most conservative treatment. Our team will evaluate the status of the teeth with a visual exam and panoramic X-rays. If they determine that the teeth are not erupting as they should, they will discuss your options with you and develop a treatment plan that fits your needs.
